We are what we eat and absorb. Our energy, overall physical vibrancy and zest for life are directly influenced by what we consume. Food is the greatest drug! We cannot expect to eat junk food and feel healthy, strong and ready to deal effectively with what life places before us on a regular basis. Stress is compounded by what we eat. Too many inappropriate food choices will most definitely worsen any problem – chronic or acute.

Obviously, good nutrition is a fundamental pre-requisite to vibrant vitality which, of course, encompasses mental, emotional, spiritual as well as physical health. Whilst fresh fruits and vegetables are (before cooking) considered bioactive, i.e. rich in organic minerals and proteins, they also contribute towards improved well-being.

At the other extreme are processed, de-natured cooked foods, on which modern people have become altogether too dependent. Basically, a good detoxification eating plan would be composed of raw uncooked foods such as sprouts, green fresh vegetables and fruits, sea vegetables and naturally fermented products. Enzymes in the body help to break down food there are specific enzymes which breakdown a specific foodstuff (see table)

Enzyme

Type of foodstuff broken down

Lipase

Fats

Trypsin

Amaylase

However these enzymes are very heat sensitive to heat, therefore cooking destroys these enzymes resulting in us not getting the correct nutrients from our food.

Improper nutrition therefore does not provide the body with the necessary fuel to function efficiently. It also hinders the organs from functioning at their optimum levels and diminishing the body’s natural detoxification process.

This all serves to increase the toxicity levels and reduce our ability to fight of disease and hinder our recovery process.

Therefore nutrition is an important concept of the Godai. Without proper nutrition we compromise our physical well being so when we are emotionally stressed from being in a stressful environment this reduces our immune system and decreases our energy levels. This in turn then places our physical state in a vulnerable position to ill health. If you are already recovering from an illness this will be greatly reduced as a result of poor nutrition.

Supplementation is one way to address this issue in the form of digestive enzyme complexes, vitamins and minerals. However you must ensure that you take the correct ones otherwise it can be an expensive and potentially adverse exercise.

At Amatsuhealth we will advise you which supplements you should be taking as well as offering Japanese super foods which are natural foods but have very beneficial effects on the body as a whole, combined with cell salts, homeopathy and glyconutrients.

Ideally you should aim to eat natural organic foods such as raw vegetables and fruits this will provide you with the essential vitamins and minerals you require, in addition you should be drinking 2-3 litres of mineral water daily which the body requires to counter act the toxins.
